Today coach Johnny King-Marino www.jkmhealth.com had a tough workout planned for me. Unfortunately, my head and a lack of sleep prevented me from getting it in. The plan was to run to the track from my house which is two miles then run 6 x mile with 200m recovery at 6:15, 6:10, 6:05, 6:00, 5:55, 5:50.. I noticed on my warm up that it was quite windy and I weakly let this get into my head. When I started the first mile the wind stood my straight up. The back stretch had a tail wind but it no way made up for the head wind on the front stretch. I ran the first one, holding back quite a bit in 6:13. I started the second one knowing I had to run faster but some how was locked into this pace. It felt slow and I knew it was slow but I could not get the adrenaline up to go any faster. 6:16?? Really… I know the wind was tough but come on I can run that back words… Well not today..I got in two more and decided that it was not my day and stopped after 4.. I ran the two miles home wondering what happened. I think this was just one of those tough training days. I seem to have one of these every so often. I had been feeling so good up until today but then I think about yesterday and well, yeah, it wasn’t that bad… Hopefully I can get a decent night sleep and the rest of the week will be better. To do that I will need to stop watching the news and thinking so much about yesterday. Easier said than done but the Maccabi Games lie ahead and I need to focus on that.
