Today I got up early to run an easy 8 miles. After a day off yesterday the legs felt fairly good despite the fact that it took me a few miles to wake up. I did a simple run from my house to Tyler State Park and ran the basic 5.3 loop from the Buck County Road Runners Club. Once done that I zipped my kids off to their soccer game which is always a fun way to start the day. After soccer it was off to pick up the clock, and cones, and markers, etc.. for the Maccabi 5K tomorrow. The Bucks County Road Runners were kind enough to let me borrow their equipment.
I have had so much support for the Maccabi 5K. The Bucks Country Speedsters were the first sponsor. They hosted the website which made this race possible. Additionally, they added this race to their series of events covered by their insurance which was huge for me. Coach Johnny King Marino from Advanced Sports Chiropractic sponsored as well along with Born to Run, the Athletic Shoe Shop, the Bucks County Half Marathon, My Pa Electrician and Road ID. Lastly All State Insurance from Newtown, came though as a Title Sponsor. I am so thankful to all of the sponsors!
I have some more work tonight to get the race ready and then up very early tomorrow to mark the course. I have a number of volunteers coming early as well and I am so lucky to know so many great people who have stepped up to help!
Well I better stop blogging and get back to doing what I need to do for tomorrow. If you live in the Philly area join us!
See you tomorrow 🙂
