Back on the track with Joe Warwick

This Sunday is the Broad Street Run which is one of, if not the largest 10 Mile road races in the United States.  I am running on a very good masters team for the Greater Philadelphia Track Club. The team has my good friends and training partners Bill Gould and Joe Warwick.  Bill and Joe are both great guys and both very tough competitors so I have to run well both for me and for them.  This week is therefore lower volume but there is still some intensity to it.

Today Coach Marino had me do 3 x 800m at 2:45 and the 4 x 400m between 76-79.  Joe Warwick was available to run so I did this workout as my late lunch.  We nailed it running just as Coach Marino wanted us to except for the first 800m which was a bit quick 2:36.  The workout felt quick but not impossible so I was quite happy.  We had to sneak the workout in before a HS track meet so we cut the warm up a bit which I hate to do but we had not choice.  The cool down was a very solid one though.  One day closer to the Maccabi Games Half Marathon….
