Today’s run was a 17 miler. It ended up being a perfect morning for a long run. It was cool, in the 50’s F, just a little bit windy and without a cloud in the sky. Harris Brenner offered to start the run from his house which is right near the Washington Crossing bridge. Jimmy Balmer joined us from Harris’s house and Bill Gould joined us from the parking lot just across the bridge in NJ. We started up nice and easy from Harris’s house. It is maybe 3/4 of a mile to the parking lot on the Jersey side where Bill was waiting for us in his car. Once Bill joined we picked up the pace a bit and basically ran 7:15-20 for the rest of the run. It felt great to run on the canal surface as it is nice an easy on the legs. The pace also felt easy which was nice. This was a great group for a long run. The group was small so we could all talk and hear each other which helps the run zip along. One of those runs where I felt like I could run all day. Thanks for Harris, Jimmy and Bill for a great run!!
After the run I had a Pacific Health Labs recovery bar. I am hoping eating those after the long runs and hard workouts will help speed recovery. No off to a busy Sunday!
Only 51 days until I leave for Israel, 53 days until the Maccabiah Games Opening Ceremony and 57 days until The Maccabiah Games half marathon!
How did you like the Accel bar? Did it work for you?
I felt good the next day but I think I need a bit more data to really say! The taste was not bad at all so we will see!
