5 x 1000m with 200m Recovery – 2 mile warm up and 2 mile cool down

Tonight I was back on the track.  The workout was 5 by 1000m at my current 10K pace with 200m recovery.    Bill Gould asked to join me tonight which was great.  We ran a 2 mile warm up and got in a few striders.  We then started the 1000’s.  The first 200m was a bit quick (39) so we needed to relax.  That first one was a bit back and forth as we tried to find pace.    We hit the first one in 3:32.  We alternated who took pace on the intervals which worked out well.  I wanted to keep the intervals from 3:32 to 3:38 and we did do that.  We averaged 3:35.

A good training day.  Only 40 days now….
