After a tough Sunday long run in the heat Monday was a nice early morning 45 minute effort.  The heat was already significant but as it was early not too bad and the pace was relaxed.   It felt good to get in a recovery run for sure!  After the run it was back to a busy week.  Had to get the kids ready for day camp and then jump into a busy Monday.  After all that I had a nice core work push up session in the evening.

Today I decided to run my speed work in the evening and run with the Bucks County Speedsters at Council Rock South HS.  This has a not just a few positives.  First it allowed me to sleep in until 6:00am!!!  Then I was able to run my workout in the heat which is the training I need and it was warm.  It was still mid 80’sF and likely hotter on the track.    As the workout the coach Marino had for me was similar to the workout the speedsters were doing I was able to have folks run with me on my first interval and some jumped in at the end.  The workout was 4 x 1200m at 10K pace with 400m recovery and then 400m at 5K pace with 200m recovery.  The workout felt easy which is very encouraging considering the heat.  I was able to stride smoothly and felt like there was another gear the entire time.

I have 3 weeks until I leave for Israel now.  I am beginning to believe I will be ready!
