So today is it. The day I leave for Israel. I got up at 4:20am so I could meet Pete at the track to run this 4 x mile. We ran a mile warm up and cool down. The plan was to cruise these miles at 6:00 flat. Hopefully this was to feel easy.
I took the first one and it felt very easy easy. The pace ended up being fast, of course, but not crazy. Pete took the second and the idea for me there was to feel uncomfortable, holding back. This is how I better feel early in the half. We were basically on the goal pace and all I wanted to do was pass and pick the pace up. That was good. I took the third and of course it was significantly too fast even with me trying to relax. Peter took the 4th and again I fought the urge to pass. I felt like I had so much more. Good…
So now I finish last minute packing. The boarding pass is printed.. I am ready to go!!!!!
Good Luck!
Um, 5:38, 5:44, 5:33 and 5:45? What happened to 6:00? You were smoking these miles! Clearly ready for a great race.
A bit too amped…
